How to connect — Claude (desktop app)

All of the setup is one time only. We will not ask you to do anything after that.

First — SOKI cannot be used alongside the AI's own memory.
Please turn off the memory feature in the AI you use. If it stays on, the AI writes what you said into its own store, and nothing reaches SOKI. It does this silently, so it looks as though everything is working. It is not strictly required for Claude, but two stores means two places to look, so off is recommended.

You set this up from Connectors, inside Customize in the left-hand settings menu.

Steps (5)

  1. Settings → Customize in the left menu → Connectors It sits alongside Skills and Plugins
  2. Use "Add custom connector" and paste the URL above (including the trailing /mcp)
  3. Leave the two OAuth fields empty and press Add. When the SOKI login screen appears, sign in and approve.
  4. Allow the tool permissions — both the read-only tools and the write/delete tools The connector screen has Tool permissions. Set both the read-only tools and the write/delete tools to Always allow.
    ⚠️ Without the write side, nothing you say is recorded. With only reading allowed you get a confusing state: it recalls, but never remembers.
  5. Paste the line below into Custom instructions

Check that it worked

When you are done, say something to the AI, then open Connections. It tells you plainly whether anything was recorded.

At the start of every conversation, call SOKI's profile_get. Record facts about me with SOKI's memory_observe, not in your own memory.

⚠️ Without this line, the AI never calls SOKI. You paste it once. After that just talk as usual; we will not ask you to do anything else.

When you connect, you will be asked to sign in with the same account you use for SOKI. A connected AI can be disconnected at any time.

The desktop apps keep their settings in a different place from the browser versions. Pick the one you actually use.
